Naftogaz Ukrainy says saw no short-term transit offer of Gazprom
KIEV, Jul 26 (PRIME) -- Ukrainian state energy holding Naftogaz Ukrainy did not receive proposals from Russian gas giant Gazprom for a short-term gas transit deal after 2019, the company said in a statement on Friday, when Reuters reported that Moscow planned to sign a short-term contract after 2019 until the pipelines that bypass Ukraine are ready.
“We have no official information from the Russian side regarding the idea of a short-term contract,” the company said published on its Facebook page.
The current supply and transit contracts between Russia and Ukraine expire at the end of 2019. European Commission’s Vice President for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic said in June that he agreed with Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak to hold the next Russia–Ukraine–E.U. meeting in September.
